Activity
Dr Rigatelli works as Director of Interventional cardiology of the Division of Cardiology of AUSSL6 Ospedali Riuniti Padova Sud, Monselice[1], and serves as interventional cardiologist by 25 years performing left main interventions, congenital heart disease and peripheral intervention pioneering a number of new percutaneous interventions including: new application of intracardiac echo to interatrial shunt closure, a new technique for subclavian artery and iliac artery interventions, and a new technique for left main dual stenting. He serve sas Visiting Professor of Cardiology in a number of International Institutions teaching and proctoring complex coronary and cardiovascular procedures. He works also as Professor on contract teaching Human Physiology and serve as reviewer in the major cardiovascular journals. He is member of the editorial board of a number of international journals and guest editor of Journal Clinical medicine[2], Frontiers in Cardiovascular medicine[3], and Viruses[4]. He wrote 33 book chapter and was author of 468 papers indexed in PubMed[5]. He travels frequently around the world as faculty of cardiovascular international meetings.
Research
Research focus of dr Rigatelli included percutaneous interventions in Left main coronary artery, filed in which he proposed a new technique, the Nano-Inverted T and contributed to define the results of dual stenting in bifurcation Left Main disease being named among national experts in the filed[6]. He is ranked among the first 15 world specialists in the field of atrial septal defect and patent foramen ovale[7], for his contribution to pathophysiology of patent foramen oval and the application of intracardiac echocardiography to atrial septal defect transcatheter closure and among national expert of computer simulation applied to cardiovascular disease[8]. He conceived a clinical and functional classification of coronary artery anomalies[9] and in the last 3 years contributed to the definition of cardiovascular risk in Covid-19 patients.
Awards and Honours
He has been named by Who’Who Marquis in Who's Who Marquis "Science And Engeenering" 2003-2004, 2004-2005, 2006-2007, 2007-2008 , in Who's Who Marquis "In The World" 2003-2004, 2004-2005-2006-2007,2007-2008 and in Who's Who Marquis "Medicine And Health Care" 2004-2005, 2005-2006-2007, 2007-2008, and cited in Leading Scietist of The World-IBC, Londra 2005 Diploma of Achievement Medicine and Healthcare- IBC, Londra-2005
He won local prizes for cardiovascular research and has been elected Fellow of major cardiovascular societies icluding: European Society of Cardiology (FESC), American College of Cardiology (FACC), American Society of Cardiovascular aangiography and Interventions (FSCAI), Cardiovascular Interventional Society of Europe (CIRSE), Associazione Nazionale Medici cardiology Ospedalieri (FANMCO), Società italiana di Cardiologia Invasiva (GISE). Moreover he has been European board- certified for Interventional Radiology in 2010[10].
