He serve sas Visiting Professor of Cardiology in a number of International Institutions teaching and proctoring complex coronary and cardiovascular procedures. He works also as Professor on contract teaching Human Physiology and serve as reviewer in the major cardiovascular journals. He is member of the editorial board of a number of international journals and guest editor of Journal Clinical medicine[2], Frontiers in Cardiovascular medicine[3], and Viruses[4]. He wrote 33 book chapter and was author of 468 papers indexed in PubMed[5]. He travels frequently around the world as faculty of cardiovascular international meetings.

Research focus of dr Rigatelli included percutaneous interventions in Left main coronary artery, filed in which he proposed a new technique, the Nano-Inverted T and contributed to define the results of dual stenting in bifurcation Left Main disease being named among national experts in the filed[6]. He is ranked among the first 15 world specialists in the field of atrial septal defect and patent foramen ovale[7], for his contribution to pathophysiology of patent foramen oval and the application of intracardiac echocardiography to atrial septal defect transcatheter closure and among national expert of computer simulation applied to cardiovascular disease[8]. He conceived a clinical and functional classification of coronary artery anomalies[9] and in the last 3 years contributed to the definition of cardiovascular risk in Covid-19 patients.
