Working Experiences and Achievements

  • 1999 - 2018: Study Group on NeuroEndocrine Immunology (NEI) at the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Annual Meeting. This study group had a good tradition in the ACR and has been founded and approved at ACR in 1999 (ACR Boston MA, by Prof. Dr. Alfonse Masi, Peoria (ACR Master) and Prof. Dr. Maurizio Cutolo (Genoa, Italy). Since then, several internationally recognized colleagues were coordinator of the study group during the years: starting A. Masi, 1999 - 2001; M. Cutolo, Genoa, Italy 2002 - 2004 and others. The meetings of the NEI SG were organized from 1999 (ACR Boston MA, November) until November 2018 (ACR Chicago,IL November) and were replicated every year at the Annual ACR meeting. The number of attendees was always in the range of 50-80 people but it exceeded the number of 100 people in 2008. The study group was alway well accepted by many colleagues in Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at ACR because it bridged the different disciplines of Immunology, Endocrinology, and Neuroscience. M. Cutolo was also invited speaker in 12 of the 18 NEI sessions during the Annual ACR Meeting.
